SnoxBox, the epitome of smartness

What makes the SnoxBox unique is that it can also be adapted to equipment other than snox AGVs. It can therefore be used for upgrading existing AGVs which are using obsolete technology, for example. The snoxBox can control laser guidance, optical guidance, magnetic guidance or wire guided AGV to deal with all eventualities.

Expansion

Expansion boards for additional I/Os

Extra communication ports

Radio or Wi-Fi communication module for use by a central computer in multiple-vehicle applications, etc.

It also controls the communication between AGVs or with a centrally-controlled computer so that several vehicles may be used in a single application.

Flexibility

The snoxBox is designed to be able to increase the capacity of AGVs and integrate specific developments through additional input and output modules:

This board uses RFID technology, whereby passive antennae are inserted into the ground. These chips can divide the AGV circuit into various areas, manage the common branches and priorities or send additional information to the AGV (acceleration, deceleration or switching).

Finally, as the SnoxBox is associated with the intuitive SNOX_TRAFFIC-LE programming software, flexibility and smoothness during use is of a level hitherto unknown in the AGV field.

Sample application

Project challenge

Upgrading of 2 existing AGVs

Specific project features

Replacement of 9 old control boards by a single snoxBox

Operation of upgraded vehicles identical to the rest (flexibility of snoxBox programming)

Operates using old generation wire guidance system

Communication with the line PLCs by sending information to the wire guidance system (using a specially developed antenna for receiving and sending signals)
